This too shall pass, as with every little phase out kids torment and drain us with. I've found that it's very helpful to give two choices for everything. He asks for milk, I repeat as i get the glass "would you like milk or juice?" This gives him the quick out to change his mind, but forces him to make a decision. Then you can simply tell him...this is what you asked for, we don't waste so finish your milk and I'll gladly get you some water. For what it's worth, I found your little guy to be adorable, polite and very sweet! Hang in there Jodi!

I just kept saying, cheerfully and matter-of-factly, "Okay, if you won't take what you asked me for, you don't get anything." And eventually he got over it. But man, that was a tough phase.
