Sienna pattern from Southern Living at Home
About 10 years ago, my husband and I headed to our local department store (the now defunct Filenes) and registered for our wedding. At the time, we lived in an apartment but were just about ready to move into a new condo. The condo was completely neutral, so we chose blue & green dishes, green towels, and a blue sheet set.
Fast forward ten years and three homes later, and nothing from our original wedding registry actually matches our home (except the bedroom set, which has been worn-out for a while now). So, even though there was nothing wrong with our original dish set, except for it clashing with our kitchen, I bought a brand-new set!
Take a look! I’m so excited to have a set that actually matches our home.

Ten years must be the magic number. When we hit 10 years and I was pregnant with my first, we went to the Pfalzgraff outlet in Wrentham and bought our first post wedding registry set. Since then, we finally shredded all of the old towels we got as wedding gifts and got new ones too. I think the only thing left from my “wedding collection” is a set of salt and pepper shakers…and a cake plate.
