I’ve gone to many blog conferences, but my favorite (and the very first conference I attended) is the Mom 2.0 Summit, now in it’s third year. This year, I headed to the Mom 2.0 Summit in New Orleans surrounded by some of my favorite friends and bloggers, and had a great time.
I’ll be honest, the sessions this time weren’t as amazing as they’d been the past two years (although they were still incredibly informative). It’s still been exciting to watch the conference grow over the years, and I’m happy that so many others decided to attend this year.
Not only did I come away inspired, I had a fabulous time in the city. Here are a few of the spots I loved:
The Court of Two Sisters: PBS Kids hosted a small get together here, and I loved the feel of the outdoor courtyard. It is a nice, casual spot in the French Quarter.
The Pelican Club: A few of us decided to grab dinner, and the small group turned into a larger group! The cioppino that I got was amazing but overall I wasn’t excited about the other options on the menu.
Cafe Du Monde: Of course we went here. Yum. In fact, we tried to go a second time, but the line was way too long.
Pat O’Briens: A legend. The hotel staff warned us about the strong drinks – which I knew of course, back from my 1997 trip to New Orleans. The hurricane I had was delicious, but I only had a few sips.
Cochon: This place is a gem, a cab ride away from the French Quarter. We had deviled eggs, broiled oysters (still dreaming of these), and cochon, a spicy pulled pork.
Napoleon House: A few of us desperately needed a break after the walking tour, so we stopped here for a Pimms Cup and a muffaletta. I’d say this is a must-visit for anyone going to NOLA. The atmosphere is wonderful, and so are the drinks and food.
Deanie’s: Reasonably-priced delicious seafood, just a block from our hotel? How could we not visit? Deanie’s doesn’t take reservations, but is definitely worth the wait.
Now, I’m craving a beignet!
